Not just flying to a Cabo resort and back, but actually driving for a few days from the US border down there, stopping overnight in a few towns, etc. I look very much like a gringo, and there is no way I would not stick out like a sore thumb – never mind how I dress or behave. I know to be cautious – not to drive at night and not go to bad places (when I recognize one as such).
I heard there are more desperate people there now because of COVID and border crossing closure: “I would not touch it now with a seven feet pole” is one opinion I heard. At the same time, many travel-related web sites are saying it is safe as long as you exercise “usual precautions”.
