Yesterday the federal Bureau of Land Management released plans to open up the lands, which were once protected as part of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments, to use by energy developers and ranchers.

Here’s what BLM Utah Acting State Director Anita Bilbao had to say. “These plans will conserve our treasured lands and support the needs of local communities.”
The good news is this is going to be tied up in the courts for the foreseeable future.
