very summer, as the days get longer and the weather gets nicer, striped bass make an annual pilgrimage to the coastal waters of New England to feed on baitfish such as pogey and herring. As these fish make their way up the coast, so do many anglers including Caleb Kern, an avid fly fisherman in search of his first striped bass on the fly.
Summer after summer, Caleb has spent countless days fly fishing Casco Bay in pursuit of stripers, only to be rewarded with snapped leaders and missed fish every time. Determined to change his luck, we set out together looking for the perfect spot to make it happen, and filmed the adventure along the way. This is the story of Caleb’s “Search for Stripers.”
