Xiphactinus, sometimes known as the bulldog tarpon, is an extinct genus of lobe-finned fish that lived in North/South America, Australia, and Europe during the Late Cretaceous period. Xiphactinus reached a length of 20 feet and weighed 500 to 600 pounds.
