An important action alert from the Deschutes River Alliance.
For the first time in 20 years, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is updating rules regarding aquatic life in Oregon. We cannot allow DEQ to relax any water quality standards in Oregon. For example, relaxation of pH levels, failure to follow ODFW spawning use tables for resident trout, and providing sufficient dissolved oxygen where and when resident trout spawning is known to occur.
Use your voice and tell DEQ to protect aquatic life and water quality! We cannot wait another 20 years – we simply do not have the time with rapid climate change and other contributing factors impacting the lower Deschutes River water quality.
