TAKE ACTION: Keep The Tongass Roadless

The US Forest Service has opened a public comment period through January 22 about restoring the 2001 Alaska Roadless Rule protection in the Tongass National Forest. The Roadless Rule would prevent logging in the Tongass, which is the largest temperate rainforest on Earth. Local angler, Elsa Sebastian, and tribal leader, Marina Anderson, tell us why keeping the Tongass roadless supports wildlife, tribal sovereignty, and carbon sequestration.

The public comment period for restoring Roadless Rule protections for 9 million acres of the Tongass is open until January 24th, 2022.
