Our friends at Soul Fly Lodge, located in the Berry Islands, have some primo open dates this fall.
The lodge is nestled into the east side of Great Harbour Cay, overlooking the ocean with a short winding path carrying you to an idyllic Bahamian beach just about a mile north of what Travel & Leisure calls the 13th most beautiful beach in the world. Their mission at the lodge is to cultivate a deeper bond with our planet, the Berry Islands fishery, and the local community through conscientiously crafted fly rod adventures.
The different fishing elements surrounding the Berry Islands are diverse and dynamic. You’ve got miles of firm white sand flats, wild backcountry creeks, acres of mangroves, expanses of beautiful turtle grass, oceanside edges, and endless miles of shorelines and coves. Throughout the year, these different environs hold Bonefish, Permit, Triggerfish, Mutton Snapper, Barracuda, Tarpon(rare), and more.

Fish – 6 Days
Depart – Sept 30, 2023
Available – 2 Rods // 1 Rooms Available
Tide – Large tidal exchange with a low tide at 9 on the first day. This is a prime late summer permit week with an ideal tide. All controllable variables point out that this will be one of the best permit tides of the summer/fall season. Great bonefishing is available as well, and there is plenty of wading around the lower tides. This is the 1st week that Soul Fly will be open for the fall season, so the fish will be rested!

Fish – 2 or 3 and maybe four days if upon departure
Depart – Nov 1, 2023

Tide – Fat high tide on Oct 29 at 9:30a. Good tide to be open-minded on fish besides bones & permit. 50% of the day will be great bones and permit water, but the high tide will offer opportunities for snapper, jacks, etc.

Depart – Nov 16, 2023
Available – 8 Rods // 6 Rooms Available
Tide – Large tidal exchange with a low tide at noon on the first day. The morning high tide will get larger as the week goes on. Great afternoon low towards the end of the week. Morning high will be great to think about cuda snapper, etc., as the tide drops and the flats shape up later in the am. Permit around, especially with fair weather this time of year.
Arrive – Nov 25, 2023
Fish – 3 Days
Depart – Nov 29, 2023
Available – 6 Rods // All Rooms
Tide – Large tidal exchange with a high tide at 7 the first day. Fish outgoing tide on day one until the incoming, which will start about 1:45p that afternoon. The tide will get slightly smaller as the week goes on, and the high tide will be about 50 minutes later each day. Every minute of the day will not be the ideal height for bonefish and permit, but the large tidal exchange can make for exciting fishing. Bait and switch are possible during high tide for jacks, snapper, etc.
