Remember when everyone was doing the happy dance when it appeared Pebble was pretty much dead and buried?
Pebble has announced a new partner to help carry its mining project through at least the permitting phase. First Quantum Minerals, one of the world’s leading copper producers, has signed a framework agreement with Northern Dynasty Minerals to work on formalizing an option on the controversial Pebble mine project.
Pebble has now crossed off two of its three stated goals for 2017. The third is actually filing for permits: First Quantum in a call with investors Monday morning, said that would happen in the next several days.
