Seventy-five years ago, between 100,000 to 300,000 SONCC Coho salmon returned to their natal streams to spawn each year. Currently, populations are less than 5% of historical abundance. Many of these fish are in isolated populations of less than 100 individuals– too small to make a comeback on their own.
