According to a recent court ruling, the US Food and Drug Administration can regulate salmon that’s genetically engineered to grow faster.
The FDA was slapped with a lawsuit by a number of environmental and industry groups that take issue with the process the FDA used to approve what many have dubbed “Frankenfish.”
The first harvest of the land-based GE AquAdvantage Salmon is expected in the fourth quarter of 2020.
