Fly fishing with soft hackles (or “spiders”, in the UK) is exceptionally easy to do, and the most forgiving of all river fly fishing techniques. Despite that there are some nuances and complexities that are essential to know in order to be consistently successful on the water.
What’re your thoughts on the GCX line? I’ve never held a Loomis, and I can’t decide if I want to try one of those or one of the new Exprides. My nice rod experience is only really the Poison Adrena, but sadly they don’t have a med heavy fast model.
