Turns out in addition to all of his other accolades, Roderick Haig- Brown was also prophetic. Nearly a half-century ago, B.C.’s greatest voice for conservation wrote prophetically about the limitations and problems of fish hatcheries. He feared that hatcheries would produce, over time, highly specialized breeds and would deplete the natural versatility of the stock.
Boy, was he spot on with that prediction…
