Bread? Check. Cheese? Check. Microgreens? Check. Tent? nah. In retrospect, a tent definitely would’ve prohibited the dew from assaulting Nathaniel and my sleeping rigs in the early morning, but clothes dry out—go figure. What you can’t feel, god forbid see, from this photoset is the absurd soreness that our cheeks felt after our first day of having more than 30lbs extra pressure on our sit bones for 18.5 miles. Next time we are taking saddlebags a million times over. Now to the positives. The reward after all that elevation? Incredible. A dip in crisp water followed by cheese, bread, and microgreens will never feel and taste as good as that moment.
