The fact that Harrison is no longer out there writing still hurts too much to fully grasp. The fact that he lived so well, felt the world so deeply, and recorded it all with such incredible language across a range of fiction and non-fiction, makes it a bit easier to accept. This book, probably one of many Harrison books I will review and recommend here, is a collection of non-fiction that covers his food, travel and sport (including fishing) and literary matters. Along with McGuane and Chatham, Harrison makes up what I always think of as The Big Three—the finest outdoor writers of their generation.
