The aquaculture industry must be shitting in their collective pants now that Justin Trudeau has been re-elected as Canada’s Prime Minister. Trudeau’s liberal party recently vowed to close BC open pen salmon farms in coastal waters and shift to closed land-based containment systems by 2025. For some reason the Atlantic Coast is exempt despite the same environmental degradation issue caused by the salmon farms.
