After reflecting and educating during the years since this was made, I’d like to mention that this piece disproportionally elevates Muir as a hero figure, and does not acknowledge the problematic, white supremacist agenda that Muir and his colleagues participated in. The pervasive whiteness of the environmental movement must be acknowledged and counteracted.
