The Norwegian Environment Agency has launched a major offensive to get rid of the invasive species. But, despite more fishing, there appear to be ever more humpback salmon arriving in Norwegian rivers.

The Norwegians really don’t mess around. I read a news piece here in Britain the other week about Norway’s Pink Salmon invasion … something about 2,000 of that 70,000 taken on rod and line , with the rest falling to traps, nets, gaffs and, er, harpoons / spears. Way to go.
