World’s worst fly fisherman Rob Conery’s luck has yet to change.
In Norman Maclean’s memoir “A River Runs Through It” the author talks about his lifelong pursuit of simplicity and perfection through craft and ”… a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise.”
I got a fish to rise in the Centerville River the other day. A few times. Nothing huge, 24 inches perhaps.
I got another one to hit my fly in Bass River.
That’s it.
That’s after many dozens of hours, daylight and night. Dawn and dusk. I’m just terrible. It’s like a “Twilight Zone” episode and I’m the clueless victim — I’ve woken up, unbeknownst, on a fishless planet.
